Is a Scrum Master certification worth it?

Absolutely. Many jobs ads for project management include Scrum Master certification as an asset. In some cases, it is even required.

Also, consider that Agile project managers can fetch 20%-30% more than traditional project managers. And yes, there is an irony there. Agile, typically, does not need project managers, since teams are self managed. That being said, many companies are more comfortable with hiring project managers. They can act as product owners, Scrum masters, or actual project managers in hybrid settings (mixing Agile and Waterfall when it is needed for a program).
